Provide data management and epidemiologic support to research projects focused on HIV prevention programs, sexual minority health, and/or app-based interventions.
Responsible for database development/management.
Responsible for development of data collection tools, performing QA/QC, exporting data, creating reports and conducting basic statistical analyses for epidemiologic studies in SAS and R.
Manage day-to-day research and programmatic activities as they relate to database development and database management for research projects and programs.
Generate data reports and materials for site management using SAS.
Obtain data from various sources, prepare usable datasets, and perform QC.
Develop creative solutions independently or as part of a team to solve data issues and facilitate study management.
Maintain, repair, manage, and update databases; provide programming for projects on an ongoing basis.
Create Standard Operating Procedures with respect to database management and database development.
Develop best practices for data collection and storage.
Conduct statistical analyses for epidemiological studies.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
1-2 years of experience in public health or human subjects research-related data management
Very good working knowledge of SAS, including combining multiple complicated data sources using SAS.
Experience with other programming languages such as R a plus.
Experience in generating SAS-based reports using a variety of methods (e.g., PROC REPORT, macros, ODS) and exporting those reports to other formats such as Microsoft Excel, PDF, and HTML.
Experience with web-based survey development
Experience using data visualization platforms such as Tableau
Experience working with relational databases
Knowledge of government projects/functioning
Experience with various publicly available datasets
Outstanding organizational skills, ability to work with quantitative data, basic understanding of epidemiology and biostatistics, familiarity with epidemiologic/medical terminology
Ability to work independently to identify logic flaws, invalid responses, and other issues in web-based survey data and develop solutions for a larger team
Able to handle multiple tasks at once; meet deadlines, familiar with databases, detailed, flexible, and able to manage relationships
Demonstrated experience contributing data analysis to manuscripts and reports to funding agencies
Experience with work related to HIV, sexual and gender minorities, and social/sexual behavior
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a good working relationship on team and multisite studies.
