About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the business unit-facing facility operations
  • Ensures a positive facilities experience for students, faculty, and staff
  • Oversees negotiation of contracts for safety, environmental, and maintenance solutions
  • Manages operating budgets as well as maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair activities
  • Directly supervises a staff of six with indirect supervision of approximately 500 employees
  • Addresses all emergency situations arising in the facilities area
  • Assists with projects and organizational structure to meet changing conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field
  • Ten years of experience in building operations and maintenance
  • Progressive, demonstrated management/supervisory experience
  • A working knowledge of capital construction and federal, state, and local building codes
