About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the development and publication of the “Trouble the Land” series for Southern Spaces
- Coordinate and manage collaboration among the Southern Spaces senior editor and graduate student editorial and research staff
- Conduct original historical research and curate archival and multimedia materials relevant to the civil rights movement
- Identify, evaluate, and secure intellectual property and usage rights for media
- Oversee and manage the project budget
- Guide editorial development, ensuring scholarly accuracy
- Conduct archival research and travel as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related field
- Five years of experience as an editor or an equivalent combination of directly related training and experience
