Oversee cash management and reconciliation processes performed by other staff accountants.
Manage relationships with Emory financial partners including the Controller's Office, University's banking institution, school and unit business and advancement offices, and vendors.
Collaborate with departments to develop and enhance technology plans and strategies for workflow and process improvements.
Provide technical support, guidance and direction for development, implementation and maintenance of complex operational projects.
Support senior management with budgeting and resource planning.
Produce monthly financial reports to management.
Hire, manage, develop, and motivate a team of professional staff.
Manage High Volume/Low Touch Gifts or Low Volume/High Touch Gifts and gift loads from multiple giving platforms.
Manage reporting schedules and data requirements and oversee the Daily Gift Receipts.
Serve as Primary Point of Contact for Matching Gifts.
Assist in review of sponsorship and event materials for FMV assessments.
Stay abreast of university-wide reporting systems, databases, and policies.
Work additional hours and some holidays during peak times.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in accounting, fundraising, or operations OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
Ability to come in person two days a week.
Residency in the state of GA (role requires residency in the state of GA).
Experience managing budgets and financial reports.
Experience working with various technologies including digital imaging.
Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with fundraising and donor relations software, database and project management software, and CRM systems.
High proficiency in ten-key data entry (number pad).
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and navigate a complex work environment.
Commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.
Familiarity with University, IRS, and CASE standards regarding charitable giving and reporting.
Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.
Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
Willingness to work additional hours and some holidays during peak times including fiscal year end and calendar year end activity.
