About the role

  • Supports university procurement operations by preparing requisitions and creating and maintaining purchase orders
  • Coordinates supplier onboarding and ensures compliance with procurement policies
  • Leads procurement training, including writing and preparing training materials
  • Reviews purchase requisitions and processes change orders and purchase order closures
  • Verifies pricing, terms, and preferred supplier usage
  • Works with campus requestors and suppliers to obtain quotes, order status updates, and resolves concerns
  • Makes independent decisions on sole source procurements
  • Provides professional procurement advice to departments and suppliers
  • Conducts general contract reviews
  • Ensures compliance with procurement policies and competitive bid thresholds
  • Maintains supplier records and supports supplier performance tracking
  • Assists with spend analysis, reporting, and data cleanup
  • Performs related responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Procurement, supply chain, and/or administrative experience preferred
  • Foundational understanding of purchasing processes and supplier communications
  • Basic understanding of competitive bidding or sourcing desired
  • Experience using ERP/eProcurement systems such as Workday, Jaggaer, PeopleSoft
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
