Support a research study examining early detection of pressure injuries using advanced thermal imaging technology in hospitalized patients.
Direct patient interaction in hospital settings; enroll participants and collect non-invasive skin and wound imaging data.
Collaborate extensively with clinical staff, study participants, and an interdisciplinary research team including another experienced research coordinator.
Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study related documents, and complete source documents/case report forms.
Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
Determine eligibility and consent study participants according to protocol.
Approve orders for supplies and equipment maintenance.
Assist in developing recruitment strategies and conducting screenings including interviews and questionnaires.
Supervise collection of study specimens and processing.
Establish case packages for study procedures, monitor scheduling of procedures and charges, and coordinate other services as needed.
Ensure compliance with research protocols, review case report forms and audit for accuracy with source documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors.
Prepare regulatory submissions.
With appropriate credentialing and training may perform phlebotomy or diagnostics.
Perform related approved responsibilities as required.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and five years of clinical research experience.
Or two years of college in a scientific, health related, or business administration program and three years clinical research experience.
Or licensed as a practical nurse (LPN) and two years clinical research experience.
Or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related, or business administration related program and one year of clinical research experience.
Or a Master's degree, MD or PhD in a scientific, health related or business administration program.
Experience working in hospital or clinical settings.
Background in wound care, nursing, or dermatology.
Familiarity with medical imaging technologies.
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with various patient populations.
Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Proficiency with research databases and electronic data capture systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with clinical and research teams.
Comfortable working with patients who have various types of wounds and skin conditions.
With appropriate credentialing and training may perform phlebotomy or diagnostics.
