About the role
- Manages strategic communications for the School of Medicine (SOM)
- Develops plans and messages that strengthen engagement, transparency, alignment, and trust across a diverse internal audience of faculty, staff, trainees and students
- Designs and implements internal communications strategies to ensure strategic, timely, and relevant communications
- Serves as a strategic advisor to department or Dean's office leadership
- Ensures consistency in tone, voice and messaging architecture across departments and audiences
- Tracks key metrics and reports on communications impact and effectiveness
- Produces and edits high-quality content
- Translates complex scientific, medical and educational topics into accessible, engaging narratives
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key leaders, faculty and staff in assigned areas
- Collaborates with colleagues across the broader SOM and Emory Healthcare team
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field
- Four years of marketing, writing/research, project management or related experience
- Knowledge of publishing and other related software
- Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials
- Excellent writing and project management skills
