About the role

  • Manages strategic communications for the School of Medicine (SOM)
  • Develops plans and messages that strengthen engagement, transparency, alignment, and trust across a diverse internal audience of faculty, staff, trainees and students
  • Designs and implements internal communications strategies to ensure strategic, timely, and relevant communications
  • Serves as a strategic advisor to department or Dean's office leadership
  • Ensures consistency in tone, voice and messaging architecture across departments and audiences
  • Tracks key metrics and reports on communications impact and effectiveness
  • Produces and edits high-quality content
  • Translates complex scientific, medical and educational topics into accessible, engaging narratives
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key leaders, faculty and staff in assigned areas
  • Collaborates with colleagues across the broader SOM and Emory Healthcare team

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field
  • Four years of marketing, writing/research, project management or related experience
  • Knowledge of publishing and other related software
  • Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials
  • Excellent writing and project management skills
