About the role
- Manages post-award activities for an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts, including regular review, reconciliation, and projection of award finances.
- Prepares adjustments and corrections to award budgets, financial reports, and ensures financial requirements are met at award closeout.
- Interacts regularly with and provides high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research.
- Defines account establishment parameters upon award acceptance, sets up award in financial system, and distributes award information to PIs and staff.
- Coordinates payroll adjustments for budgeted positions and manages budget, reporting and compliance timelines through the award lifecycle.
- Completes and monitors financial and non-financial sponsor reports, requests No Cost Extensions, Carryover, rebudgeting, and changes in scope in compliance with sponsor guidelines.
- Facilitates approval of invoices to subcontractors and assists in transferring awards out of the university and closing out projects.
- Reviews effort reports and manages quarterly effort certification process, applying federal and university rules to effort allocation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to grants and contracts management OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations / terms and conditions relating to research grant and/or contract activity.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite software.
- Knowledge of the PeopleSoft Financial System preferred.
- Experience at a large research institution with high volume and complex awards (preferred).
- Experience with NIH post-award management duties (preferred).
- Strong service orientation; excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with faculty, staff, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated flexibility, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment screenings (background check, Information Network Associates (INA), drug screening), verification of work history, academic credentials, and vaccinations as required.
