About the role
- Provides business and operational support to the organization and its programs
- Serves as acting COO in absence of the COO
- Works with the COO to define and implement operational vision and business strategy
- Develops organizational objectives that align with business strategy
- Leads internally on safety and security for staff
- Plans and implements organization-wide solutions for improved business processes
- Ensures business operations support compliance requirements
- Responsible for development and implementation of change management plans
- Collaborates with leadership in driving strategic and operational priorities
- Oversees business planning, funding portfolio management, and compliance initiatives
- Manages Task Force-wide funding portfolio supporting donor obligations
- Monitors daily security updates and ensures travel registrations.
- Coordinates safety and security training and maintains emergency protocols.
Requirements
- Master's degree in public health, social sciences, public administration, or a related field
- Ten years of related experience
- Seven years at a management level
- Minimum 10 years of program management experience in international public health
- 2–5 years overseeing global safety and security in an NGO setting
- Proven ability to manage large budgets and donor-funded programs
- Strong grant management experience
- Demonstrated success in business development within similar organizations
- Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills
- Able to multitask and work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Experience collaborating with federal agencies (e.g., CDC), Ministries of Health, NGOs, foundations, and private donors.
- Effective team leadership and management experience.
