About the role

  • Provides business and operational support to the organization and its programs
  • Serves as acting COO in absence of the COO
  • Works with the COO to define and implement operational vision and business strategy
  • Develops organizational objectives that align with business strategy
  • Leads internally on safety and security for staff
  • Plans and implements organization-wide solutions for improved business processes
  • Ensures business operations support compliance requirements
  • Responsible for development and implementation of change management plans
  • Collaborates with leadership in driving strategic and operational priorities
  • Oversees business planning, funding portfolio management, and compliance initiatives
  • Manages Task Force-wide funding portfolio supporting donor obligations
  • Monitors daily security updates and ensures travel registrations.
  • Coordinates safety and security training and maintains emergency protocols.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, social sciences, public administration, or a related field
  • Ten years of related experience
  • Seven years at a management level
  • Minimum 10 years of program management experience in international public health
  • 2–5 years overseeing global safety and security in an NGO setting
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets and donor-funded programs
  • Strong grant management experience
  • Demonstrated success in business development within similar organizations
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Able to multitask and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Experience collaborating with federal agencies (e.g., CDC), Ministries of Health, NGOs, foundations, and private donors.
  • Effective team leadership and management experience.
