About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead project development from the handover meeting through transfer to operations
  • Guide the project team using cross-departmental resources
  • Analyze all financial aspects of the project (cash flows, cost tracking, forecasts, etc.)
  • Produce executive reports and ensure dashboards are kept up to date
  • Maintain schedules and monitor milestone achievement with the team
  • Review contracts and addenda prior to execution
  • Train, mentor, and develop the team (project managers, coordinators, assistants, etc.)
  • Prepare performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluate the team
  • Carry out rigorous monitoring of budgets – development and construction
  • Oversee the analysis of change notices/change orders
  • Demonstrate leadership to foster collaboration and support team members in their responsibilities
  • Responsible for monitoring project quality throughout the project management process
  • Implement and enforce company best practices
  • Ensure a weekly presence on the construction site
  • Collaborate on zoning change processes, CCU and/or PIIA, and ensure timelines are met
  • Coordinate the execution of project pre-construction processes
  • Optimize plans and specifications and perform value analysis
  • Review and analyze environmental, geotechnical, and other studies conducted (acoustic, traffic, conservation, etc.)
  • Gather interior layout concepts and area ratio metrics
  • Supervise external stakeholders involved in development projects
  • Contribute to the implementation of industry best practices
  • Perform any other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in a related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience managing real estate projects, including acquisition and development
  • Strong understanding of real estate financial aspects, including financial analysis, cash flow models, and asset valuation
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of local and national real estate regulations and laws
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the construction or real estate industry (an asset)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (French and English)
