About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- managing psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder facility-based and outpatient professional treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review
- Assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary behavioral healthcare in a cost effective setting
- Refers cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate
- Performs psychiatric and substance abuse assessment coordination and case planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a degree in nursing
- minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder treatment
- Current active unrestricted license (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT, RN or Clinical Psychologist)
- Prior Utilization Management/Case Management experience with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases is preferred
- Bilingual English-Spanish is highly preferred
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office and EMR) and comfortable using multiple screens simultaneously
