About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversees the administration of behavioral health services to ensure members receive appropriate, high-quality, and cost-effective care
Provides clinical consultation and strategic guidance to strengthen clinical operations
Supports the design and implementation of initiatives that improve quality, outcomes, and affordability
Identifies and develops opportunities for innovation to increase effectiveness and quality
Conducts peer-to-peer clinical reviews with attending physicians or other providers
Serves as a resource and consultant to other areas of the company
Attends Behavioral Health interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and other team-related meetings regularly

Requirements

What you’ll need

MD/DO and Board certification approved by one of the following certifying boards is required
Must possess an active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession
Minimum of 5 years of experience providing health care required for Health Solutions and Carelon organizations
Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Current VT, DE, WY, AR, MS, NM license or willingness to apply for licensing in these states if needed
Utilization Management experience
