Pharmacy Intern
Elevance HealthPharmacy Intern responsible for managing prior authorization and pharmacy workflows. Working with CarelonRx to enhance member health through clinical pharmacy initiatives.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assists in developing and configuring prior authorization decision trees in the workflow tool
- Participates in quality assurance feedback from pharmacists of prior authorization decision trees within the workflow tool
- Assists in implementing clinical programs within the prior authorization space
- Verifies member, provider, and drug information and inputs data for the prior authorization pharmacists
- Educates providers on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs
- Processes prior authorization requests from physicians’ offices and ensures compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements; inform relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work 20 per week for the duration of the internship
- Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy program at an accredited college or university
- A current, active, unrestricted Pharmacist Intern license in applicable state(s) required
- 1st and 2nd year PharmD students are preferred
- Prior experience working in pharmacy retail strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
