About the role

  • Completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies.
  • Performs key actuarial functions related to cost of care.
  • Educates and makes recommendations on changes in expense and utilization that impact profitability.
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes reporting to support special projects and share findings regularly with market and project leadership.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree
  • passed a minimum of three Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams
  • a minimum of 1 year related experience
  • technical background in SQL, Python, R, or SAS
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and actuarial software tools.
  • Experience working with large administrative claims datasets and healthcare cost/utilization metrics.
  • Ability to apply actuarial judgment and statistical techniques to interpret and explain complex trends.
