About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to development of a full robotics stack for an AGV, covering simulation, navigation, localization, robot behaviors, and internal tooling
- Perform testing and tuning of complex navigation systems directly on the AGV, on-site
- Work with the client's fleet manager on the robot's perception stack
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, networking, and embedded electronics issues on the robot in real time
- Potentially manage a team and its resources as the project scales
- Participate in designing and implementing solutions for challenging customer and R&D problems
- Travel for 1–2 week periods for on-site deployments when required
- Share passion for technology and professionalism with peers
- Support team and technical communities with receptiveness and empathy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Located in or willing to work on-site in the Munich area 3 days/week from the start
- Strong experience (+4 years) with ROS or ROS2
- Strong experience (+5 years) coding in modern C++ (17+) and Python 3
- Working knowledge of networking and electronics
- Experience with Docker / containerized applications
- Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
- Hands-on experience working with real robots, not just simulation
- Ability to independently tackle mid-sized software development tasks across the stack
- Comfortable in technical discussions and able to propose solutions
- Solid technical English, spoken and written
