About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop graphic designs for textbooks, supplementary educational materials, and other support materials, assessing the needs and expectations of internal clients while respecting the company's visual identity, with the goal of adding value and attracting the target audience with more appealing products.
- Create, develop, and update cover and interior layout graphic designs for Literature, textbooks, and supplementary educational materials;
- Create, develop, and update graphic elements (badges, icons) for covers or interiors of textbooks and Literature;
- Develop template files, descriptive specifications, and libraries of ready-to-use graphic projects for the Art department;
- Review content and briefs received from the editorial department, identifying and recommending any necessary adjustments for the production of graphic designs;
- Research and expand the visual repertoire regarding market trends and innovations;
- Hire and negotiate with suppliers (illustrators, layout studios, infographic designers, etc.);
- Responsible for the production workflow of external graphic projects, ensuring they meet the brief and schedule;
- Layout supplementary educational books and special interior pages of textbooks that require differentiated graphic planning;
- Receive and review final layout files of externally produced supplementary materials, ensuring the necessary graphic quality parameters for printing;
- Review book proofs, checking and ensuring the correct application of graphic designs;
- Perform basic image editing for use in the books' graphic projects;
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication, Industrial Design, or related fields.
- Postgraduate degree or specialized courses in Editorial Design, Art Direction, UX/UI or related areas is desirable.
- Previous experience as a Mid-Level Designer, working on the development of printed and digital graphic materials.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- Knowledge of file preparation for print and printing processes.
- Experience creating and adapting visual identities, institutional, promotional, and educational materials.
- Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS to support the development of digital assets and online content.
- Familiarity with prototyping and collaboration tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
- Knowledge of Windows and macOS platforms.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, organization, and meeting deadlines.
