About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Designing, developing and documenting Java software applications used in the industrial environment.
Integration into our existing PAC Scrum team to develop, extend and implement customer-specific solutions.
Perform software and integration testing and support the rollout of solutions at customer sites until go-live (typically remote)
Continuously improve ourselves by actively contributing ideas to ongoing projects and processes
Ensure that applications are supported and maintained, even while in production.
Collaboration in projects with other IT departments and integration of stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed university studies (master's degree, diploma, bachelor's degree) in technical computer science / general computer science, automation/engineering or comparable qualifications and experience
Programming knowledge in Java/ Groovy and experience in using frameworks and tools such as Spring, Maven, JUnit and EasyMock
Strong backend / integration focus
No JavaScript or frontend skills required
Experience in modern IT delivery processes (especially DevOps) and as well as in continuous delivery, automated testing and Scrum
Preferably experience with the integration of interfaces such as OPC-UA, Siemens S7, REST/SOAP web services, TCP IP, etc.
Experience and interest in event streaming, monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting (Kafka, Splunk, etc.)
Reliability, accountability, strong ability to communicate and passion for learning
Experience in automation and/or MES environments
Hands-on experience with message bus technologies: Kafka JMS MQTT
Experience with industrial communication protocols: OPC UA REST Plain TCP / socket communication
Experience integrating hardware devices such as printers, scanners, or other production equipment
