About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for development and integration of seatbelt systems (retractor, pretensioner, load limiter, webbing, anchorages) with BIW, seats, and interior trims
- Manage system development across timing, cost, weight, packaging, technical requirements, quality, and functional performance
- Lead validation and compliance activities in line with ECE R16 and FMVSS 209 / FMVSS 210, ensuring global vehicle safety targets are achieved
- Define and maintain engineering deliverables including Design Guidelines, DVP&R, and DFMEA
- Support tool release within customer environments
- Coordinate supplier and cross-functional teams through structured technical reviews, driving design development and issue resolution
- Lead component validation and support system validation (sled / vehicle level), analyze test results, and generate detailed reports including safety-related deviations
- Manage release and change management processes, including approval recommendations for restraint components to meet vehicle timing deliveries
- Proactively identify risks and deviations, define mitigation plans, and escalate critical issues to project leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3-8 years of professional experience in the development of vehicle safety components
- Very good technical understanding and knowledge of module-specific components
- Secure use of common CAD systems and MS Office (incl. Teams and Sharepoint)
- Firsthand experience with Jira
- Good language skills and communication in English
- German language added advantage
- Willingness to travel to the test laboratories and customers in Europe and worldwide (if necessary)
- Demonstrates strong motivation to learn, adapt, and thrive in diverse environments while continuously exploring new technologies.
