About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set up robot systems (welding/handling) under lean manufacturing guidelines.
Support product and fixture/tool development with virtual simulation tools.
Assist with commissioning/implementation of machines and basic maintenance work.
Commissioning & Launch Support of automated production lines.
Support for new start-ups up to customer acceptance: Machine/Weld Fixture acceptance.
Machine commissioning & setup: TCP, axis calibration, communication.
Creation of new programs (welding, handling, etc.) and determination of welding parameters.
Validation of the first parts and preparation of complete documentation.
Review/update existing documentation and analysis of macrosection, rework, process, and cycle time reports.
Optimize programs and processes based on analysis.
Support during virtual construction phase of weld tooling and design approval.
Fit & Accessibility Coordination in cooperation with jig construction for jigs & fixtures.
Support in the preparation of production readiness and process capability of production plants.
Participate in FMEA’s and initiate corrective measures for tooling and machine layout.
Systematic troubleshooting and cooperation in the continuous improvement process (CIP).
Monitor production cells and necessary peripheral devices.
Train qualified personnel (YASKAWA & SKS).
Conduct all business-related activities for Eberspaecher within legal requirements.
Support compliance with all local and corporate Eberspaecher HSE policies and procedures.
Demonstrate quality accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate’s degree in robotics, automation, engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum of 5 years of robotic/welding experience, preferable with Yaskawa Motoman and SKS, in the automotive industry
Experience with Fronius weld equipment, preferred
Experience with welding (by hand), preferred
Ability to travel domestically and internationally by car or plane
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, statistical analysis, etc.
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals in manufacturing fixtures and gages
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
Extensive knowledge of GD&T
Experience with gaging concepts and design
Experience with NAAMS standards
Experience with welding fixtures preferred (automotive exhaust)
Experience with Catia/UG are a plus
