About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage ground-up and renovation commercial construction projects, including QSR and casual dining restaurants, schools, retail centers, industrial facilities, and other commercial developments
  • Plan, direct, manage, oversee, and document daily project-site activities
  • Implement and enforce safety programs and promote a job-site safety culture
  • Manage worker orientation programs for new project workers
  • Enforce public safety programs for non-construction personnel
  • Implement, maintain, update, and communicate project schedules
  • Coordinate required field inspections and maintain inspection logs
  • Upload and maintain company-required project documentation
  • Communicate with project teams, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Promote positive subcontractor and vendor relations
  • Represent the company professionally and work harmoniously with all project participants
  • Lead on-site project teams through successful completion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Good working knowledge of project documents, including specifications, plans, submittals, subcontracts, shop drawings, and project-specific documents
  • Ability to implement and enforce company safety policies and site-specific safety programs
  • Clear verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills for organizing scopes, people, materials, tools, and equipment
  • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements and ability to execute an OSHA site visit
  • Ability to implement, maintain, update, and communicate project schedules
  • Ability to coordinate field inspections and maintain inspection logs
  • Ability to perform and maintain construction documentation, including daily job reports, photographs, manpower reports, JHAs, toolbox talks, progress plans, and labor reports
  • Preferred four-year degree in a construction-related curriculum or equivalent field experience, but not required
  • Minimum 10 years of field experience in the construction industry as lead superintendent on commercial construction
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completion
