About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical and administrative managerial oversight and direction for the practice’s day-to-day clinical operations
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager
  • Model and develop a patient-focused culture emphasizing patient safety and satisfaction
  • Maintain positive and collaborative clinical relationships
  • Coach, develop, and empower clinical staff
  • Act as a clinical and administrative liaison for clinical staff
  • Contribute to completion and documentation of patients’ chief complaints and needs
  • Order and ensure availability of supplies, vaccinations, and medications
  • Monitor and coordinate proper disposal according to regulatory requirements
  • Identify significant changes in patient condition and report them to the provider
  • Perform procedures and tests within state guidelines
  • Assist patients and providers with virtual visits, including setup, pre-charting, test calls, troubleshooting, assessments, medication review, follow-up, and co-pay collection
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate practice work activities
  • Conduct recruitment, hiring, and training activities
  • Develop and implement practice policies and procedures
  • Administer clinical operations, including budgeting, payments, expenses, and financial reporting
  • Plan and administer practice programs and services, including personnel administration and staff coordination
  • Maintain awareness of advances in medicine, diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, regulations, insurance changes, and financing options
  • Maintain communication between practice, clinic, and operational teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School/GED
  • Active state Licensed Practical Nurse license with medication and IV privilege
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
  • Completion of externship or clinical lab training (preferred)
  • 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred)
  • Ability to direct, supervise, and evaluate practice work activities
  • Ability to conduct recruitment, hiring, and training activities
  • Ability to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures
  • Ability to administer clinical operations, including accounting, budget planning, payments, expenses, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of personnel administration, training, and coordination of medical, nursing, and practice staff
  • Awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations with employees and/or providers
  • Prioritization skills
  • General knowledge of non-clinical and clinical areas
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and teams in a high-volume environment
