About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work closely with the primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care
  • Review and update health records
  • Measure vital signs, preparing treatment rooms for examinations
  • Provide excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community
  • Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results and medical records are correct and up to date
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, and answer phones as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required): Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); American Association of Medical Assisting, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA); American Medical Technologists, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA); National Healthcareer Association (NHA); Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA); National Association for Health Professionals, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA); National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
  • Problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
