About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Functions as a member of the physician practice team, conducting duties such as: performing follow up testing of all cardiac rhythm management devices, including remote monitoring under the direction of the physician
- Support the Electrophysiology team (duties including phone triage, patient education, and other related tasks)
- Travel to other sites is required
- Responsible for providing professional nursing care in the analysis of data for patients with implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop devices, following established standards and practices
- Evaluate patients with arrhythmias and the technical skills to evaluate patients with cardiac rhythm management devices as well as the ability to program settings and troubleshoot in collaboration with electrophysiology specialists
- Promote quality patient care
- Triage phone calls and complete programming orders according to established protocols
- Perform interrogation, evaluation, and reprogramming of all manufacturers models of cardiac rhythm management devices
- Review remote, trans-telephonic, and in-office evaluations and complete documentation according to protocols
- Provide patient and family education with appropriate documentation in EMR and CareLink
- Adhere to billing guidelines and practices and promote positive staff and inter-office relations
- Acquire, maintain, and integrate knowledge of scientific principles and derived technology-based interventions and therapies in cardiac pacing, defibrillation, and electrophysiology to provide and facilitate the provision of safe, optimal patient care
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
- 2 years of experience in Cardiology-strongly preferred
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
