About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Certified Medical Assistant is a key component of our team that works closely with the primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care to our community, ensuring services are provided within the Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.
  • Responsible for reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for upcoming examinations.
  • Provides excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
  • Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are correct and up to date.
  • Measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Performs departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed.
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following (required): Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); American Association of Medical Assisting, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA); American Medical Technologists, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA); National Healthcareer Association (NHA); Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA); National Association for Health Professionals, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA); National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
  • Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
  • Possesses problem-solving skills, basic computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
