About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for management of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) activities
  • Provides coordination and support for the implementation of an infection control and prevention program
  • Assists in the implementation and monitoring of processes to reduce hospital-associated infections (HAI)
  • Ensures compliance with infection control standards and regulatory requirements
  • Applies epidemiologic principles and statistical methods
  • Performs surveillance using NHSN criteria and documents HAI
  • Investigate infection outbreaks and collaborate with health departments
  • Implements mitigation strategies in the event of communicable disease outbreaks
  • Participates in environmental rounds and construction risk assessments
  • Provides expert knowledge and guidance in IPC and epidemiology
  • Collaborates with Employee Health to evaluate employee exposures
  • Serves as a content expert and educational resource

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree - Healthcare-related field
  • Preferred Education: Master’s Degree - Health-related field
  • Registration in a specialty healthcare field of study noted above, e.g., Public Health, Medical Technician, etc
  • Licensure/Certification Required: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
  • Certified Endoscope Preprocessor (CER) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)
  • Central Sterilization Certifications
  • Minimum Years and Type of Experience: Experience of 2-5 years in direct clinical patient care or a related healthcare field
  • Prefer infection control/prevention experience
  • Demonstrated ability/experience to lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience in performance improvement
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of improvement science
