About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Zelle journey to the cloud
- Drive best practices, architectures, and technology decisions within the Zelle organization
- Collaborate with Engineering leaders, Architecture, Security, and external financial-institution partners
- Maintain a high bar for engineering execution and excellence
- Coach team members and leaders and participate in hiring top talent
- Identify opportunities for rapid, incremental production delivery
- Build and deliver scalable solutions with Data, Architecture, and Operations stakeholders
- Ensure software development follows quality guidelines and engineering best practices
- Provide accurate and reliable information in accordance with service-level agreements and audit regulations
- Ensure solutions follow engineering practices including quality, CI/CD, and scalability
- Keep executive management informed of department progress and problems
- Comply with security policies and procedures to protect system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
- 15+ years of software engineering experience
- At least 10 years leading technology initiatives or processes
- 5+ years working with large-scale cloud systems and building application solutions using containerization, CI/CD, automated testing, and security guidelines
- Ability to provide technical leadership through large-scale system designs, upgrades, and releases
- Superior leadership and management skills with strong business acumen
- Ability to mentor and energize people while demonstrating technical and leadership skills
- Experience with state-of-the-art technology, architecture and design concepts, open-source operating systems, database systems, computer networking, and security
- Deep understanding of highly scalable, distributed applications in cloud environments
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and generate results
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to convey responsiveness and competence to internal customers, staff, peers, senior management, and vendors
- Work experience demonstrating ownership, urgency, and drive
- Must pass background and drug screen
- Additional related education and/or work experience preferred
- Experience scaling large-scale enterprise operations in Amazon Web Services highly favorable
- Experience migrating application and data services from on-premises to cloud
