About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Maintain the general ledger and oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Manage the chart of accounts and ensure it accurately reflects the company's project-based business model
Oversee capitalization policies for development costs
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support annual audits and tax filings
Maintain detailed project-level financial tracking
Lead the annual budgeting process for corporate expenses and overhead
Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal controls framework
Build and manage the finance and accounting team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
CPA designation strongly preferred
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
Direct experience in renewable energy development, with community solar experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated understanding of the development lifecycle from site control through LNTP and project sale
Solid working knowledge of GAAP, with particular depth in revenue recognition (ASC 606)
Experience with Acumatica accounting software or similar platforms
