About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare specifications and other engineering documents to procure and install hydro-electric equipment and systems
Plan and direct hydro-electric equipment installation, assembly, and disassembly
Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis
Evaluate, select and specify components required to refurbish and/or upgrade hydro-electric equipment
Represent the company at shop inspections and factory acceptance tests
Participate in and direct contractors and hydro project staff at facilities
Provide operations & maintenance recommendations for hydro-electric systems
Manage project implementation to complete projects on time and on budget
Direct contractor resources for project execution
Serve as the lead technical reviewer on work designed or scoped by other electrical engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience
Power generation experience is preferred
Knowledge of electrical safety principles and best practices
Experience troubleshooting issues with operating systems in the field
Ability to manage projects independently
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings including single-line diagram, schematics, block, and wiring
Knowledge of standards such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and ASTM
Hands-on experience, including panel building and wiring
Experience with troubleshooting and testing tools, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, process calibrators, megger
Excellent written and oral communication skills
