About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for the EDRI-wide procurement strategy for substations and BESS
  • Develop and implement category strategies for substations and BESS, including standardization and scaling
  • Manage tender processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) and negotiate and conclude framework agreements
  • Build and continuously develop a high-performing supplier network
  • Conduct price and contract negotiations (Capex & Opex) in a competitive market environment
  • Establish SLA and KPI structures, including penalties, to control supplier performance
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities (e.g., bundling, standardization, market timing)
  • Work closely with Product Management, IT, Deployment and Operations to define technical requirements
  • Take initiative and ownership for establishing and advancing strategic partnerships, particularly in the area of BESS/EMS

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable field
  • Several years of experience in strategic procurement of technical products, ideally in energy infrastructure, substations or electrical engineering
  • Proven expertise in developing and successfully implementing category strategies
  • Strong skills in negotiation, contract drafting and active supplier management
  • Solid technical understanding – an engineering degree is not required, but the ability to understand and assess technical issues thoroughly and to work in a clear, structured and results-oriented way
  • Experience working on complex projects and in scaling organizations; start-up or scale-up experience is an advantage
  • Confident user of ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) and analytical tools
  • Fluent in German and English (business fluent)
