About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and maintain the Playwright-based test framework architecture, including page object patterns, test data management, and CI integration
Drive a testability contract with developers, including data-testid standards and API test hooks, and advocate for testable architecture in design and code reviews
Own the testing strategy across the pyramid, ensuring appropriate unit, integration, and E2E coverage
Build and maintain tiered CI pipelines: smoke on deploy, regression nightly, and full suite weekly
Automate revenue-critical and marketing-critical flows, including checkout, registration, analytics/tracking, and SEO validation
Write production monitoring tests verifying system and vendor availability, including Stripe, Calendly, and fulfillment integrations
Identify, triage, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and root cause analysis
Partner with engineering, product, and customer support to review requirements and provide early feedback on testability and risk
Report to the Director of Quality Assurance

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years in a software engineering or SDET role with strong programming fundamentals
Hands-on experience building test frameworks from scratch; Playwright preferred, with Cypress or similar accepted
TypeScript or JavaScript proficiency
Experience designing CI/CD test pipelines, such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI
Understanding of the testing pyramid and experience pushing tests to the appropriate layer
Experience partnering with developers on testability standards, data-testid contracts, API test hooks, and code review for test coverage
Familiarity with API testing, network-layer assertions, and mocking/stubbing third-party integrations
Experience with mobile test automation using Maestro or Appium is a plus
Familiarity with monitoring, availability testing, or SRE-adjacent practices is a plus
