About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with teams using human-centered design principles, methods and technologies to deliver customer value
- Work closely with a more senior Design Strategist
- Collaborate with team members, product owners, agility and/or change practitioners
- Lead teams through full design activities across all aspects of design projects
- Facilitate design thinking activities
- Conduct user research activities and implementation
- Apply human-centered, value-driven prioritization techniques
- Help individuals and teams succeed
- Encourage teams to think about the customer
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, data science or related major
- Duke Energy internship or co-op experience
- Demonstrated servant-leadership in nontraditional ways
- Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Strong initiative and self-organization
- Design thinking facilitation
- User research activities and implementation
- Human-centered value-driven prioritization techniques
- Proficient public speaking skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Openness, approachability, collaborative nature, and enjoyment working with passionate people
- Learner mindset and natural curiosity
- Proactive problem-solving
- Ability to meet an individual or team where they are and help them succeed
- Professional judgment on when to ask for help
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Willingness to travel 5-15%
