About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete four nine-month rotational assignments across diverse Supply Chain functions
- Work in Sourcing & Accounts Payable, Operations & Analytics, Supplier Diversity & Sustainability, Compliance / Business Support Services, and Organizational Effectiveness & Strategic Alignment
- Support sourcing areas including Nuclear, Generation, Major Projects, T&D, and Enterprise
- Participate in and lead small- and large-scale initiatives
- Conduct negotiations and commercial evaluations
- Contribute to project management and process improvement activities
- Use numerous Supply Chain tools and gain practical on-the-job experience
- Interact with other Supply Chain Associates through planned social and work activities
- Deploy to an area of interest at program conclusion, subject to business need
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Communications, or a related field
- Duke Energy Intern/Co-op Experience
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Change Management certification preferred
- Project Management experience or certification preferred
- Certified Production and Inventory Management preferred
- Certified Purchasing Manager preferred
- Lean or Six Sigma experience or certification preferred
- Business and financial expertise
- Planning/organizational skills
- Problem solving/analytical skills
- Good oral and written communications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Good interpersonal negotiation skills
- Understanding of cost and financial analysis
- Understanding of supply chain processes and the total cost concept
