About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a member of the Nuclear Infrastructure Team
  • Provide support for infrastructure and business application technologies, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and virtualization platforms
  • Install network switches and access points
  • Support Nuclear outages
  • Plan, design, install, and/or support computer systems
  • Facilitate technical and business planning for upgrades
  • Provide technical guidance on software and hardware to IT staff
  • Develop or assist in developing IT software and hardware standards
  • Assist in designing and implementing required systems
  • Integrate software and hardware configurations to maximize performance
  • Coordinate hardware and software upgrades with IT areas and business units
  • Prepare activity and progress reports for individual and project work
  • Evaluate hardware and software developments and recommend improvements or upgrades

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another related degree, or High School/GED with 6 years of related work experience in lieu of the degree and 2 years of experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • 2–3 years of practical experience with operating systems, software, and hardware
  • 2–3 years of computer skills, including general usage and support
  • Ability to thoroughly document work processes and adhere to processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, conflict management, approachability, and negotiation
  • Ability to prioritize activities and focus team efforts based on priority
  • Ability to research independently, multitask, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes
  • Ability to build working relationships across organizational levels
  • Ability to work effectively in a work-plan-driven team environment
  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to present technically complex information understandably to business clients and management
