About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete month-end closing for assigned locations, including accruals and journal entries
  • Prepare and present financial result analyses to operations and leadership teams
  • Serve as the customer’s finance expert for invoicing and external budgeting cycles
  • Review monthly expense postings and prepare reclasses as needed
  • Liaise with Travel Coordinators to maintain reporting and records for invoicing support
  • Prepare and submit monthly customer invoices and supporting documentation
  • Create, analyze, and present internal budgets, periodic forecasts, and flash reports
  • Produce periodic and ad hoc financial reports using ERP systems, worksheets, and manually collected data
  • Create and review labor productivity reports and metrics
  • Coordinate with HR on employee position, task, and financial coding
  • Work with temporary staffing agencies to confirm contracted hours, pay/bill rates, and invoicing
  • Identify and implement projects to improve or automate processes
  • Review and approve accounts payable invoices for payment processing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-year Accounting/Finance degree required
  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience required
  • Prior Logistics/Contract Logistics experience is a plus, but not required
  • High proficiency in financial modeling, including internal and external budgeting and forecasting
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with data query/data management tools is a plus, but not required
  • ERP software experience, preferably SAP, is helpful but not required
  • Solid understanding of company P&L, balance sheet, lease versus buy, accruals, and financial analysis/reporting
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Comfortable working in a quantitatively heavy role
  • Detail-oriented and able to solve problems and streamline functions independently and with a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer- and senior-leadership-facing work
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work independently
  • Creative and positive approach
  • Comfortable creating and documenting processes in a newly created role
  • Must pass applicable federal, state, local government, airport, or company background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests
