About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process all customer orders in a timely and accurate manner
- Generate paperwork and information required for customer orders, checking special requests and shipping paperwork
- Coordinate special and last-minute shipping requests with the operations department and expedite orders as necessary
- Prioritize customer orders according to scheduled pickup times or pier cutoff
- Provide shipping and tracking information
- Respond to customer inquiries concerning receipts, shipments, and inventory counts
- Report customer feedback and signs of dissatisfaction to management
- Oversee order paperwork and maintain corresponding files
- Maintain a current and accurate DSV Work Instructions Manual
- Answer phone calls and operate office machines and computers
- Enter and verify data concerning customer orders, shipments, receipts, and adjustments
- Ensure accuracy of receiving and shipping documents
- Maintain data and records related to shipping and receiving activities
- Assist in resolving discrepancies
- Collect inbound freight documentation and route it to the proper record-keeping unit
- Comply with all DSV Work Instructions
- Perform other clerical duties and backup support as assigned
- Work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Basic computer skills
- Working knowledge of computerized applications, including Microsoft Suites
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Basic-level mathematical skills
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous customer service experience, including phone calls and operating office equipment, preferred
