About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting, receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities
- Manage labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
- Plan and assign daily warehouse work based on work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and resources
- Hire, train, evaluate, supervise, counsel, and discipline warehouse team members as needed
- Conduct staff meetings and communicate operational issues to senior management, client representatives, and the Manager
- Develop and maintain systems and procedures for safe, profitable operations in accordance with company policies
- Manage operations to meet productivity, service, cost, KPI, quality, and client-agreement objectives
- Implement and report cost-saving measures and suggest operational improvements
- Support Human Resources with hiring, training, professional development, promotions, wage increases, and performance reviews
- Train new staff, assess trainee progress, and delegate training responsibilities
- Monitor job quantity and quality, provide guidance, and keep management informed of progress or problems
- Reorganize warehouse space and adjust supplies, equipment, or staffing as needed
- Assist with physical operations and support adherence to corporate and client SOPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation preferred
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal language skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and personnel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to participate in cross-training activities
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work required overtime
- Ability to work in mild to moderate unregulated warehouse temperatures
