About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results of a designated operation
  • Serve as the primary customer interface for proposal approval and contract negotiations
  • Lead continuous improvement, LEAN, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma, and ISO activities
  • Develop marketing plans and assist with growing new business
  • Ensure operations comply with company policies, client agreements, OSHA requirements, and federal/state laws
  • Lead operations to meet productivity and service goals
  • Develop and manage controls for service levels, costs, revenue, and profit
  • Develop the annual operating budget and maintain contract pricing
  • Build relationships with vendors, suppliers, business partners, and clients
  • Lead client business reviews and provide operational and administrative support
  • Manage automation and technology planning, including software and hardware purchases
  • Manage sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and material-handling equipment programs
  • Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance
  • Develop operations teams through mentoring, succession planning, and management development
  • Manage operations managers
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs and perform other required duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7 years’ experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations management
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable WMS systems
  • English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
  • Business communication proficiency at all levels
  • Advanced expertise in accounting and financial mathematical applications for managing a P&L and preparing site/operation budgets
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational, personnel, communication, leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Ability to motivate self and others, delegate appropriately, and create urgency
  • Ability to adapt effectively to change and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unified objectives
