About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee assigned daily warehouse operational activities
  • Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate inbound unloading, product stacking, outbound picking, and staging
  • Verify inbound and outbound paperwork and product counts
  • Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare activity reports for site management
  • Perform quality control checks, verify standards, and report damages or discrepancies
  • Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness and security
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll records
  • Participate in work scheduling and ensure jobs are assigned and completed properly
  • Operate and maintain material-handling equipment safely
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks as assigned
  • Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment (MHE)
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF scanner proficiency
  • WMS functions knowledge
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematics skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling products
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all organizational levels
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: 2–4 years of warehouse/logistics/distribution experience
  • Preferred: 2–4 years of proven forklift experience
  • Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
  • Must maintain an active forklift certification
