About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide proactive and comprehensive customer service for export and ocean freight forwarding services
Register shipments accurately and on time in CW1
Update internal and external systems with shipment data
Create and verify ocean freight forwarding documents, including HBLs and Cartage Advice
Ensure security arrangements, procedures, and dangerous-goods requirements are met
Obtain carrier approval for dangerous goods when necessary
Monitor permit declaration activity with the vendor
Coordinate customer booking requests at origin and destination
Follow up and communicate shipment information with subcontractors, shipping lines, shipping agents, freight forwarders, customers, and overseas offices
Handle cargo and shipment irregularities according to procedures
Escalate processing impediments to the direct reporting manager
Adhere to customer-specific SOPs, global processes, corporate standards, and governance policies
Communicate cargo incidents to customer service and external brokerage
Participate in company projects and initiatives
Initiate and follow up on cargo and insurance claims
Discuss rates and space with local and regional procurement
Provide backup for other team members
Sort and upload documents into eDoc
Maintain accurate monthly reports and meet reporting deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 1 year of working experience in a similar position in freight forwarding, field operations, consolidation planning, and scheduling
Intermediate to advanced MSO applications proficiency
Functional know-how in customer service exports
Operational know-how in ocean document processing
Understanding of customs clearance
Understanding of DSV export/import products
Understanding of legal, regulatory, and statutory environments
Business acumen
Microsoft Office proficiency
