About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met
- Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
- Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services
- Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
- Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management required
- Experience in the freight forwarding industry preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Certification in transportation and logistics preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Experience with transportation management software preferred.
