About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for leading the warehouse department in all operational disciplines and ensure operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction
Coordinates warehouse activities and facility maintenance under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and Branch and Regional Management
Responsible to train warehouse personnel to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and receiving plan
Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel
Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control
Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing preventive maintenance programs and repairs
Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions
Responsible for warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within regulations
Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency
Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline of direct reports
Timely reporting and compliance with deadlines
Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
Performs other duties as needed/assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities
High School Diploma required
Must have forklift experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of warehouse environment
Advanced competency in all aspects of business administration
People management and leadership experience (Recruitment, Selection, Training & Development, Coaching, and Performance Management)
Strategic Planning Skills
Strong Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
Ability to work well in a diverse environment and culture
