About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for leading the warehouse department in all operational disciplines and ensure operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Coordinates warehouse activities and facility maintenance under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and Branch and Regional Management
- Responsible to train warehouse personnel to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and receiving plan
- Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control
- Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing preventive maintenance programs and repairs
- Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions
- Responsible for warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within regulations
- Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline of direct reports
- Timely reporting and compliance with deadlines
- Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
- Performs other duties as needed/assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities
- High School Diploma required
- Must have forklift experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of warehouse environment
- Advanced competency in all aspects of business administration
- People management and leadership experience (Recruitment, Selection, Training & Development, Coaching, and Performance Management)
- Strategic Planning Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment and culture
