About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform Customs business activities
  • Responsible for transactions with U.S. Customs (CBP) concerning the entry and admissibility of merchandise
  • Conduct effective research, communicate with the client and/or CBP, manage Customs entries, monitor clearance, and recordkeeping
  • Review Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy
  • Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations
  • Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims
  • Ensure proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP
  • Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163
  • Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures
  • Attend provided trainings
  • Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage
  • U.S. Customs Brokerage License Certification in customs compliance or a related area preferred
  • Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Proficient in using customs management software and systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
