About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met.
- Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services.
- Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics management is required.
- Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred.
- Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) is preferred.
- Experience with transportation management software (TMS) is preferred.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
