About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Leadership of the team while simultaneously acting as a role model and point of contact for employees
Ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operational business
Technical guidance and oversight of warehouse staff
Compliance with statutory safety regulations regarding occupational, health and fire protection
Adherence to standardized processes, handling of hazardous substances and work instructions
Responsibility for safety, order and cleanliness throughout the entire warehouse area and adjacent facilities
Coordination of required consumables
Information exchange within the team and with supervisors
Maintaining statistics/records as instructed by the supervisor
Active participation in optimizing production processes and improving cost efficiency
Active involvement in day-to-day operations when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed training as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist (m/f/d), ideally in trade logistics / forwarding (m/f/d)
Alternatively, a commercial training as Freight Forwarding Agent (m/f/d) / or, as a career changer, another qualification or several years of experience in the aforementioned field
Initial leadership experience, e.g., as a foreman or supervisor, is an advantage
Career changers from other industries with a willingness to learn are welcome
Experience in leading warehouse staff and a commitment to being available are advantageous
Good proficiency with common Office programs (Excel)
Good written and spoken German
English skills desirable
Other language skills are an advantage
Team player with a sense of responsibility
Independent working style
Willingness to work shifts (rotating early and late shifts)
Forklift license
