About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor distribution of workflow to maximize productivity, including handling overflow and understaffed areas
Identify and communicate staffing, workflow, client, and procedural issues to management
Train new employees, mentor team members, and share knowledge and development opportunities
Prepare and submit departmental reports to management
Assist management in identifying, communicating, and implementing departmental standards
Monitor organizational policies and procedures and ensure regulatory compliance
Coordinate escalated issues with management and other departments
Handle escalated and complex contested matters accurately and professionally
Make or take a high volume of collection contacts by telephone
Handle escalated borrower issues and use the online collection system
Reconcile accounts with misapplied payments and document account notations
Extend relief provisions according to governmental guidelines and agency requirements
Counsel borrowers on payment obligations, explain terms, and arrange repayment plans
Offer Loss Mitigation assistance and explain relevant options and processes
Monitor foreclosure and loss mitigation accounts for timely and proper handling
Monitor daily team-member performance and ensure position expectations are met
Meet or exceed monthly goals
Complete annual regulatory compliance training

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication and organizational skills
Must be comfortable working in a quiet, designated work-from-home space free from distractions and noise
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information through multiple methods
Ability to remain stationary and/or move about the organization or remote office
Ability to sit, stand, walk, type, write, handle, feel, and reach
Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift/move up to 25 lbs
Ability to operate computers, calculators, copy machines, printers, phones, and other office equipment
Ability to type and use a computer for long periods
Ability to successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training
Supervisory experience is a plus
Collection experience is a plus
Demonstrated accurate knowledge and strict application of federal regulations and collection laws (FDCPA)
