About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as the team's technical reference, continuing to write code while providing technical leadership
Make and document technical decisions regarding architecture, tools, and standards
Lead code reviews focused on quality and the authors' development
Maintain and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform and pipelines on GitHub Actions
Manage databases, including users, permissions, and access policies
Define criteria and practices for the use of AI in development
Break down tasks, estimate work, and ensure predictability of deliveries
Conduct technical 1:1s and support developer growth
Act as a bridge between the technical team and product/business stakeholders
Write production code approximately 60–70% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with Node.js/TypeScript and Python
Experience with AWS and Terraform in production environments
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Experience with Docker and GitHub Actions
Database administration: modeling, performance tuning, user and permission management
Hands-on experience making architecture decisions
Track record of performing code reviews and mentoring, even informally
Mature use of AI tools in development
Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
Availability to be on-site 2 days per week in Itaim Bibi, São Paulo
Knowledge of data architecture and ETL
Experience working in a startup or small team
Previous formal responsibility for a team’s deliveries
Having defined practices or guidelines for AI use within a team
