About the role
- Engineer and design HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and other construction documents for the installation of mechanical systems
- Collaborate with project managers, architects and other engineering disciplines to develop project designs and optimize system performance
- Conduct detailed site surveys to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges related to mechanical system installations
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for mechanical systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and project requirements
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during estimating, construction, installation, start-up and commissioning phases
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate equipment and materials for projects, considering cost, quality, and compatibility
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new technologies and best practices into mechanical system designs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Five (5) or more years experience in engineering and designing HVAC, plumbing, and utility systems in a design-build setting
- Proficiency in design software; Auto Cad, Revit, HAP (or similar), etc.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical, plumbing and utility systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on accuracy and precision in design and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to pass a drug screen
