About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You design and develop sophisticated backend modules, interfaces and custom software solutions based on PHP and MySQL
You take technical responsibility for the implementation, customization and further development of e-commerce platforms, with a focus on Shopware 6
You ensure the seamless integration of complex third‑party systems (e.g. ERP, PIM, logistics) via REST or SOAP APIs
You actively drive innovative approaches such as Composable Commerce and headless architectures
You ensure high code quality through code reviews and testing and are responsible for the performance optimization of the e-commerce systems
You work closely with our project managers, DevOps specialists and UX/UI designers to successfully deliver end-to-end digital commerce projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in backend development with Shopware and a completed IT vocational training or degree in a relevant field
Excellent, in-depth programming skills in PHP and strong proficiency with MySQL (database design, optimization)
Proven experience with at least one leading shop system, ideally Shopware 6
Basic knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS and Vue.js is a plus
Confident use of version control, especially Git, and a strong technical understanding of e-commerce, web technologies and scalability
Strong quality awareness, flexibility and a conscientious, independent working style
Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
