About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and complete an assigned individual IT project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation to Diamondback’s executive team
  • Develop IT skills under the supervision and guidance of an assigned experienced mentor
  • Work with teams across IT and other disciplines to experience work in an oil and gas exploration and production company
  • Participate in release management activities and daily stand-up calls with various IT teams
  • Review key IT controls for cybersecurity and SOX compliance
  • Interface with departments to understand their use of IT systems and processes and drive business outcomes
  • Provide quality compliance and administrative support to the department
  • Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors supporting the Oklahoma City community

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in Oklahoma City, OK for the duration of the internship
  • Must be returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester
  • GPA of 3.20 or higher (preferred)
  • Extracurricular achievements or prior work experience (preferred)
