About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead architectural lab programming and planning for science and technology facilities, including teaching and research, vivarium, and STEM facilities
Work closely with Principals, Project Managers, Designers, clients, and users
Develop and validate program requirements for laboratory and high-tech facilities
Develop space programs and physical plans at various scales
Develop flexible planning grids, lab organization diagrams, and service distribution concepts
Lead documentation of laboratory systems, casework, lab equipment, and laboratory spaces
Participate in proposal development, interviews, presentations, and other marketing efforts
Ensure designs and construction documents comply with building codes, zoning regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements
Guide production of comprehensive construction documents, drawings, specifications, and related documents
Develop trusting client relationships
Share knowledge with colleagues and mentor junior staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of architectural lab programming/planning and project architecture experience
Architectural registration preferred
Demonstrated effectiveness in managing clients, project teams, and project processes
Excellent written and verbal skills
Knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp
Expertise in Revit
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-accepted products
Unrestricted right to work in the United States
