About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead architectural lab programming and planning for science and technology facilities, including teaching and research, vivarium, and STEM facilities
- Work closely with Principals, Project Managers, Designers, clients, and users
- Develop and validate program requirements for laboratory and high-tech facilities
- Develop space programs and physical plans at various scales
- Develop flexible planning grids, lab organization diagrams, and service distribution concepts
- Lead documentation of laboratory systems, casework, lab equipment, and laboratory spaces
- Participate in proposal development, interviews, presentations, and other marketing efforts
- Ensure designs and construction documents comply with building codes, zoning regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements
- Guide production of comprehensive construction documents, drawings, specifications, and related documents
- Develop trusting client relationships
- Share knowledge with colleagues and mentor junior staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of architectural lab programming/planning and project architecture experience
- Architectural registration preferred
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing clients, project teams, and project processes
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Expertise in Revit
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-accepted products
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States
